We are also committed to helping those who have been impacted by life events requiring prompt support. Our programs provide vital resources and support to help individuals overcome undesired situations.

About LAVA Rising

Who We Are

I'm Leah Ava Yee and I had a desire to serve people in need in communities by doing what I could. With the support of my parents, I came up with the concept to create this organization so I could make an impact. I have gathered my friends and other volunteers who are equally as passionate as I am about creating change in communities. Our mission is to provide support that is immediately felt and that makes those recipients be in the position to rise up and help others.

What We Do

We organize fundraisers, and volunteer opportunities that support our mission. Whether it's providing food kits to the homeless or donating food and supplies to families in need to collecting supplies for those impacted by disaster, we Leverage, Assemble, Volunteer and Assist.

Our goal is to help others in need:

- Food and donation kits: provided to those in need

- Disaster relief aid: donations of clothing, food, etc.

- Elderly assistance: visiting and gift giving

- Tutoring: our team of teen scholars are here to help

- Peer Support: a friend to talk to

Our Impact

Initiatives

2023/2024

-Assisted my family with handing out over 30 kits to homeless in Penn Station during winter months.These kits include gloves, hand warmers, hat, canned food, crackers, reusable bag.

2025

-Created community drive and distributed over 50 bags of food to people in a Nassau County community

-Collected bags of clothing and essentials and sent to hurricane victims in Jamaica.
